“56% of them were white males,” says the author. Um. 63% of the U.S. population is white. Yes, males often commit the most violent crime. But if your picture represented the U.S. accurately for murder, 7 out of the 10 faces wouldn’t be white. Globally it would be at least 8 out of 10. Right-wing and Islamic terrorism each commit on average 5–8 murders a year in the U.S. but in 2016 our murder total spiked to 17,250, 3000 more than in 2014.

I would like to live in a post-racial, post-sexist world, but the Social Justice Left keeps implying there’s some ongoing race/gender problems as it pertains to white/males.

One could also be like Steven Pinker points out we’ve made tremendous gains as it pertains to violence, and actually were reaching historic lows in the U.S. until activist movements riled up anger in the population. I’ll agree we have further to go.
