Thanks for the information. Yes, obviously my Illinois Senator Durbin, who I do support, hasn’t read my Medium essay. As this line from the SPLC article you sent is arguably incorrect.

In his official press release, Durbin said, “Violent white supremacist groups and other right-wing extremists are the most significant domestic terror threat facing the United States today.” He further stated, “Too often when violent tragedy strikes our people, the conversation only shifts to terrorism if the perpetrator is from another country. Our own federal law enforcement agencies recognize that terrorism is on the rise in our own backyard, and it’s time that Congress takes steps to address it.”

That’s flat-out wrong for many reasons, almost all of them I detailed in my Medium posting after Charlottesville.

For one, there was only a near 5% increase in hate crimes in 2016, and one of the biggest category spikes was against white people. Murder went up 8%, and less than 10 of 17,250 murders is counted as hate-related by the government. White offenders of hate crimes are down to 46.3% from as high as 63% just 10 years ago. Whites are 63% of the population, too. I hate to say it as a liberal: But the right-wing media is correct in stating that mainstream media players like the AP are downplaying these facts.

Then there’s all the data from my article that all shows right-wing terrorism has killed LESS people than jihadist terrorism since 9/11. Such as New America

And if you count 9/11…
